L.I.F.E. 5b, which stands for Local Iowa Food Empowerment 5b, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing food security issues in the communities of Fremont, Page, Taylor, Mills, Montgomery, Adams, and Pottawattamie Counties in Iowa. Comprised of a passionate group of food producers, growers, and distributors, L.I.F.E. 5b strives to create a robust network that connects growers and producers to distributors, institutions, and consumers. By facilitating these connections, the organization aims to increase food security, promote sustainable agriculture practices, and foster a healthier food system.

The primary mission of L.I.F.E. 5b is to empower local food producers and growers, assisting them in enhancing their food production and processing capabilities. By providing support and resources, the organization enables these small farmers and producers to contribute significantly to the local food supply chain.
