Meet the Crew
The Real Stars of the Farm – Fluffy, Feathered, and Full of Personality!
Life at Sycamore Ridge wouldn’t be the same without our very important residents: the animals! Whether you're visiting for a class, picking flowers, or just tagging along with the kids, you’re bound to meet some of the crew who help keep this place lively and loved.

Raising Animals

On the farm, it's easy to get comfortable around the animals we spend time with every day—especially the ones with sweet eyes and gentle temperaments. But no matter how friendly they are, it's important to remember that all animals, particularly large ones like horses, come with risk.
Horses are powerful animals with strong instincts. Even the calmest horse can startle suddenly, kick without warning, or react unpredictably if they feel threatened or surprised. It doesn’t mean they’re mean or aggressive—it just means they’re animals with their own boundaries and natural reactions.
The same goes for dogs, goats, chickens, and even barn cats. Each one deserves respect for their space and awareness of their behaviors. Moving too quickly, approaching from behind, or not paying attention can lead to accidents that are entirely preventable.
So whether you're feeding, petting, or just spending time near the animals, stay alert. Watch their body language, speak calmly, and never assume their behavior will always be the same.
Caution isn't fear—it's care. And the more care we take, the safer and more enjoyable life with animals becomes.

Our horses are gentle giants, including our newest addition who’s currently receiving some extra TLC. They love attention and snacks—and they’ll gladly photobomb your selfies.

From fresh eggs to feathered antics, these birds keep us entertained and well-fed. You might spot them scratching through the grass or sunbathing in the dust.

Rabbits
Our fluffy bunnies are expert diggers and masters of cuteness. They’re usually chilling in the shade or nibbling on greens.

Let’s just say... they found us. These are the real bosses of the barnyard. Some are friendly, some are mysterious, but they all earn their keep as top-notch mousers.
The Dogs
We’ve got three friendly farm dogs who love visitors and think everyone comes here just to play fetch. Spoiler: they’re usually right.
We do sell our Nigerian Dwarf/Kiko breed goats as well as New Zealand/Flemish Giant/Continental Giant rabbits. Please e-mail us to inquire about what animals are available for purchase.
