Tomatoes are running my life

Tonight Michelle and I canned the tomato juice we had started last week. While the water bath was boiling we went out to the garden and harvested another basket of tomatoes and marveled at how gigantic the orb weavers are this year.

Then we took a snack break inside and had sliced tomatoes with salt, pepper, mozzarella cheese, and a balsamic glaze 🤤 oh my gosh it was so good!

This was so good! We had most of it ate before I took a pic.

Tomato Pie - could use some refining but worth a second attempt

As we were snacking in that we started planning the salsa we are going to start tomorrow, the spaghetti we need to make this week with the leftover tomato sauce that wouldn’t fit in the jars. We decided the German Pink tomatoes tasted the best with the balsamic and the garden freshly picked Harvest Moon was the second best.

It seemed like a day completely dedicated to the tomato and when I think about it - most of my time not at work has been dedicated to the tomato lately. It really is running my life 🤣 harvest tomatoes, weigh tomatoes, package tomatoes, deliver tomatoes, process tomatoes, advertise tomatoes, repeat! Fortunately I’m still not tired of them just yet!
